When I joined Flowers in May of 2018, they didn’t have an internal marketing and design team. All of our work for our multiple brands were spread out over 4 outside agencies. Many of them were charging extremely inflated prices for things like website changes, sell sheets, packaging, and yes, photography.
With my background in photography, I was asked by the CMO if I would be willing to take on some photography work, such as packaging shots, beauty shots, and out-of-pack photos.
In under two years, Flowers saved over $300,000 dollars in photography costs by utilizing my work, which has since expanded. We have since eliminated outside agencies, founded our own internal agency, nicknamed “Crumb” and have brought on more designers, copy writers, and social and digital media managers. In the last 3 years, we’ve saved over $3.5 million dollars.
You don’t take a photograph, you make it.
